Overview

This is a modelling gel, not a standard colour coat. Its heavier body can be drawn into petal tips with a liner brush or shaped with a silicone tool, and it holds that position until cured. Afterwards the relief can be left glossy or lightly refined for a matte hand-carved finish.

Because the film sets firm enough to keep its profile, G114 also suits outlines, borders and lace patterns layered over cured colour. Artists building full sets use it over a poly extension gel builder system once the extension is shaped.

How to use

1. Prep the nail, then apply and cure your base layer.
2. Cure the colour coat fully before sculpting.
3. Pick up a small bead with a liner, dotting or silicone tool.
4. Sculpt the relief, pulling petals and ridges into shape with light dragging strokes.
5. Cure under your UV lamp, following the curing time your lamp requires.
6. Finish with your usual top coat, or buff lightly for a matte look.

Yes — the formula has a firm body, which is what lets it sit up in a bead and stay where you draw it. Thinner colour gels spread on their own; this one does not.

Do I need a separate top coat over the carved design?

Not strictly, but a top coat protects the raised surfaces and adds gloss. For a matte carved look, cure the relief first, refine the surface lightly, then seal.

Can it be used on top of gel polish colour?

Yes. Cure the colour layer first so the base stays even. It also works over builder extensions such as the form-free poly extension gel once that layer is set.

Which tools work best for sculpting?
